Hi All,

Apologies for what probably is a dumb question!

I have a 97 Punto MK1 60SX. When i bought the car i was given x2 Blue keys NO RED.

Just a quick question reading up on the RED Key am i to assume my car has an immobiliser? On my insurance quote i stated the car does NOT have one. Should i have said it had? cheaper quote??

Should i get a RED key?

Sorry for dumb question guys!

Cheers in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Firstly, yes, your car does have an immobiliser...so is worth telling the insurance company (y) although I'm not sure how much difference it makes money wise :)

As for the red key...you can't just obtain one, you probably have a 1 in 10,000 chance of really needing it anyway.
I don't have one for one of my cars and *touch wood* hasn't been a problem so far.
If by any chance you did need one in the future, then is best to deal with it then. There are options open if need be.
If not.. dont worry (y)

in that thread/sticky dave says that cars between 1995 and 2000 should have a red key, mine came with two blues and is a 1997. Yet i'm not aware of it having an immobiliser. BTW its a 55s, can anybody clarify?

Back when I drove a cinque...I was told by my local fiat dealer that if the key has a little symbol on it...that looks like a triangle pointing into a little c that's inside a big C....then the car has the FIAT CODE immobiliser
