hi i got a mk1 punto 75elx with 33000 miles, its silver and in overall good condition

apart from an uninsured driver drove into the back of me(n) . and its damaged my bumper and you can see crumpling inside the boot (where the spare tyre goes)

Is the car still worth something, is it worth selling?
i dont have the time or energy to repair it, is it ok to drive a damaged car (legal issues?) will it fail an mot for this?

appreciate any help thanks. :)

so is the uninsured prick responsible shelling out the cars value (upto a £1k).

considering the police and dvla are cracking down on them with anpr's and that everywhere they still seem to be causing half these accidents:mad:

if the boot inside is crumpled then thats it, its finished I'm afraid:cry:

Similar thing happened to my mums ford escort, new driver just passed her test, chatting to her 4 other female teen passengers. Wham into the back, did nothing to her posh 4x4 that her daddy bought her (He offered my mum the value of the car so his lil girl wouldn't have to pay more insurance, but mum got in contact with the insurer too quickly)

Couldn’t see any damage, but it shunted the boot so the boot door wouldn’t close, it was a write off, there is probably unseen damage, just get rid, best to sell for parts, prob get more for individual parts than the whole car itself.

Sorry to hear it though.

Yer the boot is crumpled, i have been told it wont pass an mot like that,
so i will probably just sell it for parts, i cant be bothered to strip it my self, the interior is immaculate and the engine only got 34000 miles on it. i jus spent £300 on servicing and tyres as well. :(

i am pursuing the women through the motor insurers bureau, and i will see what i will get

Yey, today it passed its MOT, it means the car is still drivable:)

If the boot still opens and closes forget about it, rear end knocks are ok, its the front ones which are a problem.

Just make sure all wheels are straight with some tracking.

If you cannot open and close the boot and want to, buy a new boot from breakers and get a piece of wood the length of the boot sill and get hammering.
