Hi all
I have just bought a 2014 Punto Jet Black 2 and it has cruise control.
The cruise control turns on as it should (green light on dash and message on the screen) but I can't seem to get it to 'lock in'.

I have been attempting on the motorway once up to speed and in 5th, my understanding is that you turn the stalk to the on position, accelerate and it should then stay at the speed when you take your foot off the accelerator. Alternatively push the stalk up for a couple of seconds and it should also hold speed.

Either way, I turn it on, for arguments sake at 70, the light comes on, message displays but when I take my foot off the accelerator nothing happens (revs audibly drop and speed drops off and within seconds I'm back at 60)

Should it give me some indication on the screen of what the selected speed is as I also understand that pushing the lever up/down changes the requested speed?

Check operation of your clutch and brake switches as these will prevent your cruise control setting a speed.

Can't help you with operation, but normally you switch it on, then at the desired speed you either press a 'set' button or move the stalk up or down to set the desired speed, moving stalk up and down raises (up) or lowers (down) the speed normally by 1mph increments.

Switching off, activating the brakes or depressing the clutch disengages cruise control, normally the stalk will have a 'reset' button which when you have accelerated code enough will set the cruise control at rlthe previous speed setting.

Have a read of your handbook if available to see how to operate your system.

When I put my cruise on, i click up (on the same part of the car) and then it get stuck. Never tried it with putting the gas more. Sorry my English is not my first language so I'm not sure if I'm using the correct words but on the part where you click it on (turning) just push it up like you are using your turning light.

Pushing the stalk UP should increase speed.. you have to hold it.. there is a short delay

You can use the foot throttle to accellerate past this 'limit'

Lifting food the speed will drop to the 'limit' set by the stalk

Brake..or clutch will disengage Cruise..

But..

Pressing teume will make car accelerate back to the Stalk 'limit' you previously set

The Cruise is the reason I bought my punto TA :)

Turning the end of the lever will turn the system on, the light comes on, on the dash but it doesn’t ‘set’ anything. To set a speed you need to be moving at above (I think it’s 28mph) feet off brake and clutch and then push the lever upwards hold it up a second or so and you should feel a slight pull of the cars acceleration picking up then just let go of the lever. Want to slow down or speed up then push and hold the lever Down or up. Alternatively press it repeatedly 5 presses = 5mph increase or decrease depending which way you press the lever.

It’s a stupid system because the green light should really only come on to tell you cruise control is active but for some reason Fiat’s just have the light on all the time the system is switched on, regardless of if a speed is set or not.

If it still doesn’t work then as suggested above you might need to adjust the clutch or brake switches on the pedals

How easy are the switches to adjust, and how would I know which one it is? Is it safe to assume if the brake lights aren't permanently on that it's not the brake switch?

You have to hold the stalk UP..

For a few seconds until you feel the car accelerate

Do you have 'Resume' on the end of stalk ?
I do have that, yes, I have tried all the methods suggested but it won't engage so I am now looking down the route that it may be an issue with the clutch switch. I had a quick look in there last night but couldn't see anything, is there a bit of trim I need to take off? If anyone has a similar car could they put some pics up for what I am looking for?
