Hi! Since my mk2a Punto has a lot of rust problems, I was searching for a new car and I found an Abarth Punto Evo from 2011 (1.4 T-Jet 165 hp). Can I get some opinions about the car and how reliable it is?

T.jets have been around 12 odd years.. so well proven

Does it look well cared for ?

Gearbox will probably be biggest outlay if motor is sound and well serviced

From the pictures on the sales website it look well taken care of. I'm waiting for more photos from the seller.
What are the most frequent problems of the 1.4 t-jet? Is it more reliable then a 1.4 tsi from vw?

So, I've talked to the seller and apparently is the MultiAir engine. Is it better or worse the t-jet?

Service history or no sale then..

Its DIFFERENT TECH..

Needs the correct oil

He used selenia 5w40 or 5w30, I forgot. The car is 117k km, timing belt is still the original, he bought the new kit for it, and didn't had time to replace it

Not a good sign. a responsible owner of one of these cars would be getting things done properly and at the correct times. The fact he is planning to do the cam belt himself is an alert, has he done all the other servicing on his own and is there actually any verifiable service history.

He's not doing it by himself. Only the oil changes have been made by himself
