Hi folks, I’m new to this and I’m having some trouble with my 2013 fiat Punto GBT and was looking for advice.

It started a while ago with getting a warning light saying that one of the day time running lights wasn’t working but after checking it was okay. I kind of just dismissed it. Then a few weeks later the thermostat was jumping about into the 60-80 degrees C. But then that went back to working normal and after another few weeks the doors open light came on saying the boot was open when it was closed. Now that’s away I’ve got an alarm saying EBD failure and ABS unavailable.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks,
Gordon

Any condensation/water/dampness in the cabin??

Ask for an earth pints diagram showing earth point locations for your car.

Could someone direct me please to wiring diagrams/earth point locations for a punto evo 2010 please?

A common problem with fiats of this era is cracked insulation on wires especially where they are flexed, the wiring connections to the boot being the main culprit, they can break and short out causing all sorts of problems so would not hurt to check there.

This sounds like a bad earth somewhere though. Somewhere round the front of the car, high resistance on an earth point could easily affect the lights, the engine temp sensor and possibly something like the reverse light switch which can bring on errors with the stability control/abs system

The wires in the rear hatch loom flexing, as do the door looms, make and break contact. Had this problem ( still do for the drivers door ) with the pug hatch. One wire had gone very brittle ( work hardened due to flexing ) with some strands poking thru that wire insulation, and contacting the inner wire of the cable next to it!! This caused real problems at the time but was an easy fix.
