Fault

Ive noticed that my dash has 2 symbols that glow dimly : @2o'clock position.

Anybody else had this.

Hey. I have this. My seatbelt light glows dim while driving and another orange one that I cant remember what it is glows dim when the engine is off but unlocked

Mine are the seatbelt and airbag.

Next to the 4000 rpm mark.. on my TA

It is difficult to get a photo.. this was in the dark..with flash.

The lights on indicator in GREEN shows ok

But the 2 x RED symbols in the GREY disc in centre of tacho..by 40 .. do not

Yeah I just checked and that's exactly the same as mine. Its weird but hasn't caused me any issues as of yet. Only had the car a month or so. I think I would have noticed if there was a proper issue already.

What age: spec is yours..
be intetesting if it is common to all evo unto no matter what year or engine.

I've got a 2012 evo mylife 1.2

Mine is a 2012 build twinair.

Only noticed the lights for around a month..

But could have been on MUCH longer.

As it is now over 6 years old I will just keep an eye on things.

Only items so far : 2 indicator bulbs were no longer YELLOW enough for the MOT.. I believe the LED taillights are still behaving.

And airbag 'RED' drivers..?

Yeah its a lot dimmer in person though. Pictures make it much brighter.

Hard to tell from the pictures, I wander if it’s the light bleeding through from adjacent likes, I had a little look on mine, didn’t notice anything glowing that shouldn’t be, but did notice when a light is on, is does appear to let some light through to those around it.

I know what you mean.. but my 2 are basically 30% lit..

No apparent bleed

Dark enough now for me to notice all this again..

At 'TEST' there are @ 6 icons within the rev counter..

But it is just these 2..

They are on the upper portion.. the others being lower on the face of the tacho.

And yes it only appears @ 30% lit.

Im not too concerned..as it appears unvhanged in 10 months.

Ok.. looked a bit longer..

The 2 icons light as soon as door is opened.. come on with mileage illumination.

Key operation has no effect..

Once key removed.. the icons lose power.. and return dark after @20 seconds..as whole car powers down

Quite possibly.

Its completely stock.. had 2 rear indicator bulbs last year.

As youve seen:
Its not just mine.. so could be a component fault.. like the 500 dash cluster.

Im not going to worry.. not woth pulling apart.

Been working shifts nowadays.. post Covid

After a few weeks of night time use
I have realised the dash display is normal.. no strange glows

Will be interesting to see if it returns when cold and damp..

Hottest day of year today 35'c

Still 21 'c at 23:30 on way home

I have now noticed mine doing the same thing from time to time, but the car has sat not being used for months
