I am a new member of fiatforum. There is no Fiat forum in Denmark. Have bought a Fiat Punto Lounge 1.3 Multijet from 2014. Want to upgrade engine, more power. The car tunes with OBD from a specilist, and the DPF is removed and remap DPF / EGR off. The car gets about 120 BHP and about 250 NM. Similar to this website

For the people who want some experience thoughts: I have my DFP removed and EGR off (in closed position). At the same time the ECU has been remapped. The car seems a bit quicker, fuel economy is the same or a bit better (not that much of a difference).

ADVICE: if you want your car remapped, go to a specialised tuner for the make of your car (not an allround tuner), because there are many "tuners" in the world just uploading a remap from another car with the same engine, but they can mess up other functionalities like cruise control, climate control, etc. A good tuner always takes the ECU mapping of your ECU and edit a copy of it (stores the original, so you can always go back to the factory map), so the overall settings and codes of your car will be present.
 
I know this thread is old, but would like to share my experience with DPF Off and EGR Off on my Punto with engine code 199.B.4000 1.3 Multijet 85 BHP and 200 NM Euro 5.
My car drive excellent, and drive longer per. liter diesel. It is fast but no rocket. Punto does well when I gear down and have to do an overhaul it comes up quickly in rpm and I feel clearly much more torque than standard engine.
Disadvantages that come with this change are, you can smell that the car is without DPF at cold start. Turbo sound (as in a light whistle sound) can be heard more clearly, there is no back pressure anymore when DPF is removed (I guess).
On the other hand I dont have to think about stopped DPF or defective EGR.
