The AC unit seems to be a bit noisy on my Punto. It works perfectly but just has a humming/droning noise when on. It's not a squeel noise.
It is particularly noticeable when you are building up revs during acceleration and gear changes and slightly noticeable whilst idling. At motorway speeds you can't hear anything unusual.

A friend mechanic said it's probably the AC clutch which would mean a new AC unit at quite a cost. Any ideas? The car only needs to see me through til January. After that I'll be selling it but would rather sell it honestly without any issues.
