Looking for help - my wife's 2012 Punto boot won't open by either pressing the key fob or pressing the boot button on the badge. I have checked the fuse but it's healthy. I have also opened the boot from inside and sprayed with WD40 but still not working. Any ideas? or has anyone had the same issue?

Common problem with water getting in threw rear wiper motor grommet and getting into multiplug for boot catch. Remove boot panel, remove multiplig from catch, try clean contacts/dry out, spray bit WD40 it you want. If still does work water has worked its way into internals of catch and will need to be replaced ??
