One of my friends who owns a normal 62 reg Auto Punto said to me when she started her car at the weekend all the dash lights stayed on when she started to reverse off the drive but then the engine cut out & the car does not start again. All she gets now when she turns the key is a "click" and nothing.

The car has 13,000 miles and not had it's 1st service yet which was at 9,000 miles.

First, do maintenance as scheduled.

Than it can be a lot of things, quite dead battery, starter command, mechanically blocked engine...

Battery problem,


fit a known good one, then check to see if it's charging from the alternator,

do let us know how it ends-up.. but it sounds like a poor battery to me,

IF it needs a new one , it won't be dirt cheap as it's probably a Start/ Stop system,

although of course Warranty may cover it..
