TA Misfire

A few of you will be familiar with my constant complaints about my Punto TA constantly breaking down.

It develops a misfire then puts the EML light on then after two trips switches it off.

I took it to another dealer and they are doing the following;

- Modified coils (again)
- Spark plugs
- Oil temp sensor

My question is this, could the oil temp sensor cause a misfire? And has anybody else had 7 breakdowns in 7 months and 900mi with the TA engine?

Re: TA Misfire

no,
mines just coming up to 8K and not missed a beat,

tickover drops LOW on occasions but never has stalled /or thrown a MIL or anything else..,
stop/start is a different matter..BUT not a specific defined fault..!!

What are the recorded errors? Is the air module good?

Re: TA Misfire

doesn't mean it is the coil though, the PCM has no way of knowing it is the coil or injector or wiring or air module.

Thanks I could understand if they were replacing the coolant temp sensor but oil temp sensor is baffling me :S
