Hi,

On our punto twinair, the start stop doesn't really seem to come on/work...

The cars done 6,000 miles and we're mainly doing short journeys. The start stop has come on a couple of times but only very briefly.

Could someone explain to me how it's supposed to work/what you're supposed to do etc?

Thanks :)

Hello,

Make a search on Punto and 500 section, there are a lot of thread about Start Stop.

Check out the manual too, there is a list of conditions (long as your arm) for start stop work.

Basically, short trips, cold wheather and relatively high electric load mean shorts or no start and stop.

perfectly normal..,

the "system" monitors battery voltage , and if there not enough "in reserve" it won't do a stop/start cycle,

if you want to test it's capabilities,
take the battery off + charge properly,
clean contact on reassembly,
then go for a good long drive,
the system has to re-learn / adapt so won't work straight away,
if it still does nowt get a new battery out of the dealer , because yours is faulty ,
if it's been stood at the dealer before you bought it, then that's the cause.

I'm waiting to get mine swapped as they only last @ 2 years apparently, (n)
may as well get it changed at month 22 , so I get more time from the replacement:rolleyes:,
