Hi all,

Just back from my local dealer... think i'm about to order a Punto TwinAir, and wanted to get some feedback as to whether this is a good deal or not ?

Going to get a test drive in a few days to test out what sort of ecomony I can realistically get from it, as this is my only real concern.

TwinAir with Brio Pack, 3 dr, Ambient White (though might go for the Green, it's actually quite nice in the flesh).

Brio pack is: Voice-controlled Blue&Me Multimedia System, Rear Parking Sensors, Adaptive Cornering Foglights, Climate Control and Cruise Control.

Adding on Chrome kick plates, Spoiler, Side skirts, sport suspension.

Total OTR Price, £11048 including various discounts.

What do you guys reckon ? Good deal, or are there better deals out there ? Might add the side rubbing strips & the boot lip protector for the dog...

Cheers for any thoughts !

Chris.

Yeah old Arnie doesn't seem to have many of them so getting their hands on a demonstrator apparently isn't easy. Going to chase them up again tomorrow.

Are 24/48 hour test drives readily available / common ?? That'd be ideal tbh, do you happen know anywhere that does them ?

Hey,

Nice... how is it ? I'm STILL waiting on Arnold Clark getting a demo for me. They have showroom cars, but no demos :bang:

Must admit, i KINDA like the TwinAir green colour.... it actually looks quite good in the flesh. Just unsure if i want a green car

Any chance of doing a wee video, so that i can hear the noise it makes at idle, and whilst being revved / at constant revs ?

Also, any news on fuel economy would be great - though it'll need a while to 'bed-in'.

Cheers,
Chris.

Twinair green is really nice ! Especially with the black roof it is just beautiful.:)

The only question is over the time, it is a bit flashy...

Well, I finally managed to get a test drive of a TwinAir. Bottom line, don't like it (n)

I can only describe the noise it makes as like a muffled version of the noise an oldskool VW Beetle would make, except this time it comes from the front... and whatever they have done to the exhaust note is just weird. It's almost like they have tried to make it sound like a muscle car, but totally failed and it sounds like a gurgling goldfish instead :(

Other negative point, the shaking. When the car is idling, the vibration / shaking caused by the 2-cyl engine is REALLY noticeable in the cabin. Was sitting at a set of lights and the plastic trim on the door was making a vibrating noise in time with the engine tickover. Pretty disappointed with it tbh.

Start stop doesn't seem to work when the car requires ANY power for other things. Such as, if you have aircon turned on, even to the minimum level.

Positives: SHED loads of power available at low revs, really torque-y, and pulls like a 1.6 ! It's pretty difficult not to rev this car, although if eco mode is on, it limits the power available.

Really like the restyled interior, and the bodykit / alloys look really good.

What i did see, was that they have a pre-reg 12 plate GBT, with full leather, almost 'lounge' spec for just over 9 grand ! VERY tempting !

Shame though, I was really getting into the idea of the twin-air... but now that I have been looking at getting a new car... I REALLLLLLLLY want one. So, we'll see what happens :D
