Hi there,

After 13 years of Fiat Multipla and 247.000 km we bought a Fiat Punto 1.3 MultiJet. Today I was connecting our phones to the system and I wanted to lower the notification sound, which went fine.

When I was in the menu I accidently opened "Bag passenger" menu (which means airbag passenger, I suppose?).

I selected "Bag pass: On" and then "Confirm?: No". I did this twice.
I didn't confirm it, so it should be on, like it was, right? I started the car up and no airbag warning light went on.

Am I safe? I don't want non functional airbags (y)

See attachments for the pictures I took.

Thank you and happy & safe driving!

The airbag warning light stays on if the passenger bag is off.

It should come on when you start the car, and then go off if the bag is on. The ability to turn the bag off is to allow you to have a child seat in the front if necessary.

If the airbag is turned off, no light will illuminate as you are telling the airbag ecu that there is a reason that you dont want the airbag turned on. If you go through the menu, go to the airbag option, make sure it says "On" then confirm "Yes". It will say "Passenger airbag on".

Ok, Just been out to my punto and just noticed that You are right, but however kporter is wrong, the airbag warning lamp is the one that (I would say this) illumates red and indcates a failure. The Airbag indicator lamp is what I would call it, which is yellow and sits just above the charging warning lamp.

Sorry - you are correct. I had got forgotten there was the warning light as well. Worth noting that the indicator light has a little 2 on it to show it is only the 2nd airbag it is referring to.
