Re: Fuel Pump on Fiat Punto MK2

Hi @AllCity and thanks for the guide

On any future guides you do, please could you use the Fiat Forum Gallery to upload the photos and then attach them to the guide. Ive changed this one for you already. It just means that the guide will work correctly on the fiat forum app and the forum wont be left with any missing pictures or dead links should the photos be removed from the hosing site in the future.

Thanks,
Alan

Re: Fuel Pump on Fiat Punto MK2

update to tool needed to remove plastic locking ring
ive now failed twice with boiling water so gone on to think out of the box and so spend no money on fancy tools you will probably never use again as a home mechanic

get two pairs of mole grips securely fastened at 180%to each other on the metal boot floor
now with the aid of a helper one through tailgate one sat in back put pry bars on mole grips and in unison lever this ring off
some are so tight they still break so consider robbing a spare from your local friendly junkyard before starting
be aware fumes kill and dont make itchy scratchy sparks though just in case theres enough fuel/fumes to cause an explosion
