Mk 2 Punto 1.2 8 valve. December 2001

Yeaterday reveived recall notice from Fiat UK.
1.2 8 valve Punto Engine Management Control Units could become faulty over a period of time causing irregular engine running and reduced performance. The engine fault warning light may illuminate.
Return the car to have the unit checked & reprogrammed free of charge.

Dealer says it is a 1 hour job.

Sweet might take mine when i get a spare cppl of hours just to avoid any trouble. Only problem I have with mine is fluctuating revs.

I know this is an old post, but was this applicable to all mk2 1.2 8v punto's?

If so, how do i find out whether this has been actioned against my wifes car?

Easy, contact the local Fiat Dealer and give them the vehicle details.

could this apply to mine?i have been having trouble,my car wont rev higher than 2000 revs and moves only very slightly forward and back (really slow )

I have a fiat punto 2005 automatic 1.2 8v

I phoned fiat and they said that my wifes car has NEVER had a recall issued for it ever, so obviously none is outstanding. Would be odd that one 1.2 8v engine gets recalled for EMU troubles and not another?
