Is there a DIY way of flashing out ECU fault codes on a Punto. Many other cars have this facility if you know how to do it. On Vauxhalls it's just a case of shorting a couple of pins on the diagnostic plug and reading the code which is flashed out using the ECU light. A friend of mine has the injector light illuminated on his N reg Punto but isn't sure why. The obvious thing is to take it to a dealer but they often overcharge even for a diagnostic readout...

Hi welcome to the forum:)
sorry i know what you mean but it dont work like that on a fiat, dealer should only charge about £30 from what ive read on the forum from others.
my old volvo had the flashing led thing under the bonnet, the man at volvo dealer showed me how to read it, it chucked out 4 codes he advised me to check all the things it said myself, i checked all the things the codes reffered to lambda sensor, tdc sensor, 2 other things that i can't remember and it wasn't any of them, turned out to be loose wire on the air tempature sensor, it never chucked out a code for that!

Does the car run ok?
Common faults on punto are lambda sensor and coil pack alough when the coil pack dies it dont make that light come on

We are 99% there with cracking this - email us in about a week and we may be in a position to start doing these for people. We will only be charging a nominal amount as well!
