Hi,

I am Ryan from Malta and I own a mk2a 1.2 16v punto. Everything was fine until I went to a garage for an MOT. I know he connected something to i do not know what in the engine bay and after an hour my punto idles erratically, as if the engine wants to come off the supports. Any help please, I had just done a complete service a week ago including changing the spark plugs. It is my daily driver so please help if you can.

1st i would go back to the garage and tell him your had this problem ever since your had it back, it could be loads of things, if your not getting any ECU warning lights (i assume your not?) then its worth looking for air leaks in the induction pipes. What about HT leads? Maybe a Coil Pack has gone or Spark Plugs with incorrtect gaps or you could try and reset the ECU..

Very easy to do disconnect the battery, black comes off first then red, then leave it over night so all the power to the ECU will drain and will reset back to factory standards, when reconnecting battery red gos on first and black gos on last, while you do the above make sure your key is (not) in the ignition hopefully this cures it if it dosnt as i said above it could be loads of things, air leaks in the induction pipes, worn HT leads? maybe a Coil Pack has gone or Spark Plugs with incorrect gaps on them.. If you dont want to bother looking im sure most people will tell you to take it to a fiat dealers and they will read it for error codes..
