Styling experienced modders? pointers needed?!

right, basically i got a few tings i wanna do but not sure about.if you know owt let us know. Its a MK1 by the way, an important factor..obviously.

i wanna re-cover my seats due to poor...very poor interior choice by fiat, ne1 know of a gd placee or wud i b beter getting a second hand punto sporting set?

also any pointers on the legality of pop solanoid kits for the doors and boot? recon it look sweeeeet n wanna sort it!

Do any puntos have rear brake discs or are they all drums? wanna wack some disks on the back but too much hastle uthawise.

CARBON FIBRE bonnets???? yay or nah..its a white punto? where can u get them from n how much?

finally side skirts? the ones that cpome on the sporting model, ne ideas as to where they can b found?

1 you'd be best getting seats form a high spec GT or sporting model.

2 boot solenoids are ok. the law is (i think!) that the door has to be able to be opened from outside

3 not exactly sure bout the brake situation but if your car hasn't got them, chances are it doesn't need em. theyre a pain in the arse to change.

4 Carbon fibre bonnets are sad!

5 You can get sporting side skirts from a scrappy. but you're not the only one looking for them!

ive read that you have to have a door handle on the out side or it wont pass the mot, but ive asked a few testers and they have never heard of it.

remember reading an artical that said you needed an external method of opening the doors,but the testers dont seem to bother

doesn't have to be a handle, but how else are you supposed to get in! what if your battery dies? people put solenoid switches under the mirrors, but you should have some mechanical backup perhaps don't de-lock the boot in case you have to get in

i think u can convert ur drums if u want, but i seriously doubt its worth it unless uve dropped alot bigger engine in, the car companys no what there doin when buildin a car, an if it aint there it aint needed

1) GT/Sporting Seats are ok, but if you want something half decent AND ORIGINAL then probably the best place to go is the last place you'd think! If you can find the fabric you want, then ask around at normal furniture upholsterers, quite often they'll do it for 50% of the price a car upholsterer will do it for! If they say no, then keep asking other places, as its not that they can't do it, it's just that they haven't done it before... You can also get 100% original designs on your seats too!

2)As Mad Colm rightly says, you don't have to have handles, or any visible means to get in. Obviously handles are easiest, but if you completely smooth off your car then the easiest thing to do have solenoid switches hidden behind your mirrors. Most decent bodyshops will do it, and it shouldn't cost too much!

3)Brakes - you can't beat having (decent) discs all round, no matter what people might say. If you want to be serious with modding your car, then you gotta be serious about keeping it on the road and looking sweet. Yeah its hassle, but if you can afford to take it a garage then it ain't your hassle to have is it?! If people argue about discs vs drums, then Y do you rarely find a car with drums on it in motorsport?!

4)Carbon fibre is old hat. Yeah its sweet on the right car, but is it original?! Not any more!! Come on, have some originality, get yourself desiging custom vents!

5)EBay had two sets of Sporting sideskirts on there yesterday both for less than it costs to go to a scrappy. Estimate 30-40 for a decent set, or get down to your breaker's yard before everyone else gets in there!!

Oh, and one other thing, if your car's delocked and dehandled, its a more visual deterrant to TWOCers!
