I took my Punto 55s out yesterday, as i usually do and the strangest thing happened.

When i applied the brake, the indicator slowed down... if the brake was applied slightly hard, the indicator would just stop, then when i lift off the pedal, the car begins to indicate again.

Does anyone know what this could be, as it is quite annoying having to tap the brake to keep the indicator working while braking so i dont get pulled.

its caused by a bad ground in the rear lights., theres loads of other threads about them here.,
just remove the lights and clean all the metal contacts and slightly bend the terminals in the block connector with a small screw driver so that when they are put back together they hold on tighter.,.

Had the same problem on my old Tipo and Tempra, changed the rear bulbs and that usually did the trick

Common problem, doing the above suggestions worked for me also. With mine aswell when the indicator or brake was applied the fog light led in the car would come on!

its usually rust/corrosion rather than water that causes it., but putting wd40 on after you clean it all will help keep the water out.,.
