Dear Group, 2003 Active Sport owner here. A while ago the hooter developed an intermitent fault, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, now it's made it's mind up, it don't work!
When it did work it didnt sound all that great, a little bit "Noddy Car" like.

Anyways, i bought a little multi meter and theres juice getting through to the horn, so looks like its had it, better that than the switch.

Anyways, seeing as i've got to change it i thought i'd ask the experts. Do you all have the standard Fiat hooter or would this be an opportunity to change it for something a wee bit more distinctive? And if so, what would you guys recommend, or what do you use yourselves?

Many Thanks

Thanks very much. Tell me, twin horns, does that mean they both make the same tone or is one different from the other?

look for any of the recent Honda horns., there ear piercingly load.,.,lol
my civic is very loud, it kinda hurts my ears.,
i was under the bonnet and someone pressed it once and it took ages for my hearing to go back to normal.,.,lol

Thats great, sounds just the job! right, just one more little question. Is the electrical connector just the bog standard spade connector or is it anything tricksy.

just a block clip i think., you can just ask for the connector with the new horn from the scrappies and wire that on instead of the original one.,.,

Last question, honest. Assuming i get twin horns from a Vauxhall, will the wiring that exists be ok as it is or will i need a relay?

Many Thanks

that looks like it'll have a bit of power dave.,(y)
hate to have my head under the bonnet when someone presses it.,.,lol:eek: :D

ah forgot the up date, yeh tis great, bmw tried cutting me up the other day 1 bib and he soon moved back into his lane, must have thought i was a lorry

i didn't wire it in like it said on the box, i just conected it to the wires that went to the old horn and it works fine :)

I think the instructions assume you dont have any horn(s) to begin with - like a kit car or you've burnt the wiring or something. If you're swapping then just attatch wire and go.
