I have a JTD on a Y plate, 61K and am considering getting one of these:

Would you advise it?

would a proper remap not be better?

not a bad price, but a remap would be better, it would be tailord to your car and you'll get a bigger power increase about 40-50% ie;85 standard 120+ with remap

Yep a remap is better, you get loads more power.

Am not after too much power (considering the clutch will start slipping).

Another vote for a remap.

remap is three times the price, get one of the little boxes for a third of that, my Dad put a similar one on his laguna (120bhp) it goes like stink now!

Why do you think people recommend re-maps? Tuning boxes are like athlets trying to compete with crutches.

For what you call 3 times as much you will get from us a before and after RR printout, the map done properly with the use of the RR and a dedicated induction kit.

By just whacking on a tuning box you might long term pay quite a bit more money than going the professional route.

its pretty much the same thing you post originally,as said its down to price really.
remaps better with better(proven) results but if the box is your budget then go for it
