Hi, supprisingly enough, something else has gone wrong....

Noticed a pool of water under the carpets running from the back seats to the drivers footwell.

I've just run a hose pipe on the outside of my MK2 and the water is coming from under the dash behind the pedals, looks to be a leak from the windscreen seal ouside. Does the whole dash need to be removed or just sealed from under the bonnet somewhere?
Plus I can't remove the drivers seat as there is no way of accessing the screws properly and with what??! Special tool?

Is it worth going to fiat? How much will they charge? Plus the mat (with the hard exterior and fluffy bottom) under the pedals running up to the top, is completely soaked and breaking apart. Will they replace this or just seal the hole?

I'm so depressed now. :bang:

Gonna get the windscreen taken out and sealed back in by RAC under my insurance.
God knows how im gonna sort out the interior, fiat i guess as i dont have the time :(

it just takes time to dry out the inside.mine got so damp it was mouldy but its 99% dry now and i will be able ot clean the seats soon and that should be it

Mine has ati freeze in from the window washers too! It's pealed the paint and made the carpets smell! I can't even get to the rear yet cause its proving poo to remove the drivers seat. I've used towls and loo roll in the drivers footwell. Was your problem due to the windscreen? It's so soaked in the back.

it'll be one of the rubber grommets that the cables go thru. it *MAY* be leaking from the top of the windscreen where it meets the roof (common for mk2's to corrode there) and the water will run round, them come out from behind the dash.
so if the RAC reseal doesn't fix it, then start getting the grommets checked out.

don't bother with fiat, too expensive, find some local grease monkey who's willing to work for cake, parts cost nothing (pence for rubber and sealant) its just time and thought
