Only recently discovered this board, my Punto has made a noise when turning the steering wheel since new, hard to describe the noise sort of sounds like wiring all rubbing together, when I asked dealer abot it he said all Puntos do it to some degree or other and sure enough I went out in another one of theres and it did it. Thing is it has got louder over the years, but what is it, anyone know?

Also my 48k service said noisey clutch, is this something to worry about, it just makes a very light click when depressed?

Thanks

New Poster here.

I've had the clicky clutch problem and successfully sorted it.

I took it to a friend of mine who said instantly when he heard it that it was a clutch release bearing that was worn and changed it for me.

Infact he changed the whole clutch and the problem has gone.

A tell tale sign of this problem is that the clutch "stiffens up" and keeps getting stiffer with the noise getting louder over a period of time.

Where changes clutches I notice ATS etc don't. Do those AA places? How much should it cost on 1.2 16valve Punto?

When ringing a garage re. new clutch, if you ask for the cost of a new clutch including labour will the price quoted be right or could there be other parts work for a new clutch?

Also how much roughly?

Thanks
