Another wee problem :)

Well - had it a month, first it was the head gasket - now I have a dead battery :-(

(it was sat on the hard shoulder of the A1 for an hour las week with the hazards on!)

Had to bump start it this morning - seems to be starting ok now. but for reliabilities sake I think I should change the battery.

Does anyone konw how much I should be paying for a MK1 battery its the 75 sx model??

And where is the best place to get it from?

Ok, :)

and I take it I wont need a red key if I disconnect the battery? I only got blue ones!!

Yeah most likely it is the battery, and showing this morning probly cause it was so damn cold, well it was here -0, i dont know about the red key as long as your changeing a battery over in under 6mins im sure you wont have a problem?

no red key needed, no matter how long it disconected

You sure dave, i know sumone who had a flat battery and left it for 5 days, replaced with new battery on the 6th day and car wouldint start key code light staying on, he took it to fiat they said if he had the red master key it would have sorted the problem...

Ok cheers for the info, must have just been a one off thing i guess then, i know he didnt break anything just wouldint start in the morning when he tryed it, so i tested his battery and voltage was really low he had go visted a ill family member for couple days, when he came back we went got new battery stuck it in and the code light wouldint go out  oh well it will allways be a mystery.. :p
