Im trying to find a power loss fault with my engine. I get the injector light appear in the dash when I turn the ignition on but it then disappears when the engine starts.

If my injectors are clogged is it easy to remove them and can I clean them myself or is it a specialist job?

My engine is a 1242cc 16v Mk1 punto engine.

not really.

the injector needs to be 'open' which can be achieved by putting 12v DC thru it.

however, you do risk damaging it if you are not great with electrics.

the injector needs to be in the open position whilst you blow thru it with a air line, or better still, an air line with some strong cleaning stuff sprayed into it.

I would rather send them away to get dissembled (if poss) and cleaned properly, as they will bench test them before and after and show you a graph of how much better they are(y)

costs anywhere between £18-40 per injector

I was having trouble with the power so I bought some slick 50 injector treatment and it was during using this the injector light came on.

Does anyone know any injector cleaners in the London area?

I miss-read what he was saying sorry, your injection light should go off inside 4 seconds or so after you turn key to postion II, sometimes they dont and stay on but as T14086 said the light gos out when engine starts that is normal..
