Hi,

Well, wanting to upgrade my exhause backbox/tailpipe to give a more nice sporty sound.

I've got a Punto MK2 (2000) 5DR ELZ 1.2 16V. I'm looking to have probably this fitted:-

Spec here: http://www.gazzella.cc/cart.php?target=product&action=view&product_id=17583&category_id=413

Would I have any problems having this fitted? Will it fit alright with the standard back bumper? etc.

Any prob's please let me know - thanks

Did actually see that last night mate, not sure though could be damaged, as it's sold as salvage. and doen't look like theres any fittings. I know it's cheap but not sure if it would fit the 5DR model either.

its the brackets, thats all your need and then a u clamp which cost £1, and i think the tailpipes look ok, its just the silencer which looks damaged, but it wiill be under the car....

im sure someone will know if 3 and 5 door exhausts are the same.

Another worry is the back bumper is fairly low down as the stand exhaust sit actually behind it and face down, would it be safe to say it'll be fine fitting without a need to cut at the bumper?

Sorry for dragging this thread back up..

I was going to leave the back box till next month but after reversing into a FAR to high curbing i've now bent the exhaust back and doesn't sit in the rubbers anymore. Took it to a local garage who said they wasn't wanting to bend it back as it might restrict the airflow and ultimatley damage the engine. I told them to bodge it up for now and i'll soon replace.

They said i'd get away with just a new back box, so they excuse has arisen to buy myself the new shiney zorst in Post #1 and go get it fitted.

Still awaiting this delivery. Ordered & paid for on the 03/01/07 - apparently they sold the last of the stock of this during the xmas period, therefore I have to wait a shipment from Italy which seems to be taking a decade to arrive.

Tried phoning them earlier too and the line now seem's dead?

The importer had a shipment on the 8th of January.

:bang:

Meaning they should have the stuff in their warehouse?

The guy told me Friday (12th Jan) that they had nothing & heard nothing and the only information he could give me was that the delivery was somehwere between Italy & the UK. How informative.

Well finally got an update after contantly phoning their 'new' number.

The chap offered me the more expensive Ragazzon (which would work out @ £86 more inc VAT) but he's done it me for a reasonaible £40 and confirmed that Ragazzon are a lot more on the ball with heir deliveries and gaurentee'd it by Tuesday.

Apparently CSC are a lot more laid back when it comes to delivering and said that theyre not expecting anything untill the end of the month.

Suprise, Suprise. Gazzella once again disapoint.

It's now thursday and they've not even got hold of the other exhaust he gaurentee'd for me by Tuesday.

When will this saga end. (n)

Starting to give up on Gazella now, i've spotty a nice dual pipe exhaust I like. it says 1.2 which mine is, but also says 8V... mines 16V would this OK do you rekon? It's the full exhaust, and apparently fits onto the original mountings.

Well, FINALLY after well over a month received my Ragazzon back box from Gazzella. Took it to the garage yesterday to have my 'DIRECT FIT' replacement back box fitted. To my horror I get the mechanic bloke shouting me in to say it wouldn't fit.

Apparently the pipe coming from the back of the box was no where near long enough and should have had a bend in it where it would fit onto the middle section. Even if the pipe was cut at the top if it would be straight on the bend which wouldnt work.

Now i've had to book it at at Exhuasts UK who apparently should weld a stanless steel bend pipe on.

Just to top things off while on the ramp we found a small crack in the middle box - can things get any worse (n)
