Hi, This is my first post and first question! So im hoping its in the right place!

I went to see a 04 punto active sport for sale today, and was quite suprised to hear that they didnt have a key that operated the cars remote locking, nor did it have a red key.
Am i right in assuming it would come with a red key? and do you think it would be possible to replace the remote locking key? if so any ideas on price?

Also, is there anything different under the bonnet of a 8v active sport and a 16v active sport to be able to tell them apart, or must you go by what the paperwork says?

Any info would be appreciated,

16v has it written on the airbox and it square

8v is round and doesnt advertise the fact it only 8 valves

Another question if i can, am i right in assuming that all 03/04 active sports both 8v and 16v have remote central locking? if so is it operated via a key or a fob? I have seen two cars now that don't seem to have remote locking! Also, what does it mean when the digital display (Time, mileage etc) flashes?

I went to look at an 8v active sport and it didn't have remote locking. The 16v that I purchased did. Maybe it was exclusive to the 16v or was an optional extra. Mine is operated via the key

As to the display flashing, let me get back to you after reading the manual. I have never experienced this.

Just had a quick flick through the manual and I see nothing about a flashing digital display. Did you notice if it was constant?

16v = remote locking
8v = manual central locking.

when the dash flashes i think it is something that a fiat dealer needs to reset. i know i've hdd it sometimes, once or twice it stops but other times it has needed resetting by the dealer.

flashing digital display means its not proxie alined, cost about £30 at dealers to do, but it could mean they have fitted a lower mileage set, so i would look for another car, lots on ebay
