Seen a couple of threads on here for the 'Hill Holder' function on the Mk.2B Sporting model.
Didn't actually know my car had it until a warning message came on screen when my wife was driving. It stated : Hill Holder Failure.
I have tried to recreate this warning myself, but cannot even get the Hill Holder to activate.
Is it automatic on hills / inclines or do you have to do something to activate it ?
Can't say I have ever noticed any mention of it in the manual that came with the car.

The hill holder system will hold the brakes on for approx 2-3 seconds allowing you time to get the bite of the clutch correct when pulling up a hill it will also operate the same for going down hill, all you do is dab the brake pedal when in 1st and it will operate. Check that the brake lights work as the 4 pin pedal switch also sends signal to the abs control node. If its not working at all when you try that my guess would be the clutch switch has gone..
