General MK2, WITHOUT electric steering??

My mk1 gearbox (well diff) is abou to wobble itself to death.

so looking to replace, with a diesel, and the good diesels only came in mk2 shape so looks like i'll be having one of them :yuck:

heres the Q

DID fiat ever make a MK2 JTD (1.9) without that stupid electric steering that so regulary buggers up?

nope! i think all mk2 have electric steering

All UK mk2 puntos have electric pas, although they were available elsewhere without.

just a mk2 1.9jtd (early one, like 99 or 2000) would make some sort of sense to me right now, BUT i really don't want the hassle of a £500 part going.

reckon stilo PAS (non electric?) would fit a mk2?

its either a mk2 jtd, OR a bravo jtd, but they are even rarer
