sportings for sure, and they were 80bhp, which is 6 less than a mk1, and the mk1 weighs about 100kg's less.

only way to tell is actually go and lift bonnet.

I remember a guy on here and bought an active sport with abarth kit on it, told it was a 1.2 16v, and when he got it home, he took some pictures all around the car (nice looking car), but was seriously embarressed when it was found he had bought an 8v, and paid 16v money:eek:

Yup even garages tell you anything to get you in the door, phoned up a local garage today to test drive a 1.2 active sport, asked is this the 8v or the 16v, ohh yes its the 16v. Ok so drive down, nice car, pop the hood and its the 8v which is the SAME engine as my old Mk1, except a redesigned airbox by the looks of it. So i say this is the 8v! The guy says yea we dont have any 16v in! I'm like WHAT!

Anyhow i told him where to go for wasting my time! And poped round to fiat as they had a 1.9jtd in. Nice engine but this one had a shocking gearbox, was double, triple and even quad clutching the dam thing to get it into any gear! Ohh its been sitting for a while they say! Yea well my old Brava's been sitting about for 6 months and my Bravo HGT wasnt moved for 8 months when i bought it and it didnt have any probs! We'll get it fixed if you buy the car they said.. well i aint gona touch it unless i can drive it with the gearbox fixed first, or get me another car! But engine was nice!

That wasnt B18RDM off of here was it, a matalic red mk2? lol very funny

if you want a mk2 16v then it only came in the Sporting.
If you want a mk2b 16v then it came in the active+, active sport and dynamic.
Hardly any Active+ were sold so it is mainly the active sport (badge and side skirts) or the dynamic (a/c, different interior trim) that are about in 16v form.

Hope this helps

yes you can get a mk2 16v without it being a sporting but you lose all the sport trim/skirts and the beutifull 6 speed gearbox.
:yum:
Don't forget the HGT is a 16v without being a Sporting (wish the HGT had a nicer gearbox though)..

and jami, yes it was that red one LOL
Thought it was, I actually went around to her house and had the pleasure of being the first passenger in it. I think the doubt began to set in when I asked her to pop the hood and there was no evidance on the block or anywhere else on the car, that it was a 16 valver. LOL poor chick
