hi there, i need help. iv recently purchased a punto 1.2 8v active on a 51 plate, which induction kit should i get, it needs to be reletivly cheap, ie between 20-50 quid, in my experience so far a cheap air filter is just as good as a k&n, so not fussed about a name! please get back cheers :bang:

ive gt same car bt not the active. if ya just want a cheap 1 u shud prob get the APIRO Ford Focus DOHC 1998 - 2004 Air Induction Kit off Ebay for bout £40 inc delivery, they fit straight on to the 1.2 8v's.

measure the diameter of the air intake pipe connected to the airbox and buy a £10 universal induction kit off ebay that will fit that diameter.

i've used many different types of filter over the years and i actually prefer the cheap universal ones. they sound just as good, and common sense tells you there's no real power gains to be had with a filter so it doesnt matter what you stick on as long as it filters the air and sounds good.

try to ensure a good cold air supply gets to the filter, and hot air from the engine bay doesnt.

thats interesting are they meant to increase power/torque?

yea thats what their designed to do but in all honesty if your running a 1.2 at bout 60-70bhp its not guna do anything apart from make it sound nice an maybe be a little more response to he throttle but unless your running high BHP your not guna get anymore power or top-end from it.

It will be initialy a good throttle response then itll BOG down and then over-fuel (Due to the incoming not having any physicly more space to get into and the "more" incoming air provided by the filter will fool the ECU into thinking its got more air in the lnlet track than there actually is).

Look on any Injection system and see WHERE the air flow and amount is being measured from AFTER the filter not before.

They are just poo pants on anything that hasnt and top end work done on the engine

Just save your dough or dont listen and get one and notice it using more fuel buts they are gehay on 1.2s

the gsr has shown gains on a rolling road, don't stick a cheap filter on top of the throttle body, they suck hot air and have no induction length
