I'm going to be selling my Punto (Mk2 03 1.9 jtd Eleganza 5dr) very soon and am wondering on getting it serviced.

It has 46k on the clock, 10k since the last service and almost 12 months ago.

I'm going to ring around the local garages this week to get some prices to get it done, but am not sure if it is required?

I know the air con also needs looking at, as it's not worked for a few weeks, and the rear brakes may be due for a change also.

Help required please. :)

Many thanks

Cheers chaps.

I'm going to ring around some local places tomorrow to get some costs.

I'm getting an older (95-98) VW Golf GTI 5dr as a replacement for a bit of fun for a while. Before you ask I have a few friends who have had a small number of them in the past so I have a good support base etc.:)

Right, I had a chance to ring around the local garages today, and this is what I got.

Nearest place: Currie Motors, Watford/Croxley - £290.00 full service
Other Fiat: Perrys, Amersham - £332.00

Independants:

Chalfonts Motor Co., CSP (5 min walk from house) - £250.00 ish

Youngs of GX, CSP (also 5 mins away) - £156.00 (£79.99 + parts + VAT) - includes a brake strip + assemble.

CST, High Wycombe - £200.00 - they service most cars for my old company and are next door to them.

Misbourne Motors, CSG - £200.00 ish

Steve, High Wycombe, does cars for friends company as next door also - £100.00 ish

Fortunately I have a spare car next week (little Vauxhall Agila 1.2) so can still pootle to work with the car in a garage. :)

wow though's first two cost more than a newish audi a6 3.0quattro to get a full service!!!!

cost us £312 at an audi garage for a so called 'full dealer service', althoug they failed to lube doors and locks, failed to clear out the a/c drier pipe, clear out the gunk in window and sunroof drains (like asked), however they did charge £17.50 for a full fresh tank of washer fluid (although it WAS already full when it went in!), which then drained itself as they pulled a tube off the bottom.
:tosser:

I think I'll go to Youngs as they have been recommended to me by other locals and they are easy to get to and a sensible price.

Service all done on budget. (y)

Air con is good too.:D

Anyone want to buy it off me now?:)

:) No worries.

I'm currently putting it on ebay (classified), Autotrader etc. Hopefully will sell well.
