Technical Poor Starting

I have a punto 55s m reg which is intermittently poor to start when cold.Has had the head gasket done and both coils replaced so i hope i can rule these two out.
The symptoms are it turns over and wont fire and it seems to be like it is flooding as when it starts there is a bit of black smoke and it runs lumpy for a few seconds and needs to be reved until it until it has cleared the plugs.Any pointers in the right direction would be gratefully received.

mines done that last year, been ok this tho, does it do this every yr??

Try wiping the crankcase sensor, they can get covered in cr*p, but it would usually run rought all the time, still for the seconds it takes to clean it, it would rule it out.

Hi, were is the crankcase sensor and what does it sense ? I have a Brava with starting problems so am looking at all similar problems and remedies.
