Easiest way to remove the pipes of a throttle body, any hints. Proving to be a ball ache!

undone the clips, its just pulling them, im starting to break the pipes

I know exactly what youre on about Dave! They're so bloody tight its a joke:bang:!. I seem to remember trying to prise em off with a flat screwdriver and just snipping some and goin down the tat yard to replace em

mine cam off fairly easily, intially a bit stick just twisted em to break the seal then pulled off (cut my hand on something when it came off ).

only thing I could suggest is maybe pour boiling water on them?

Good idea! but aint the alternator and starter motor directly underneath? Would all that water going on em be ok?

you live in ENGLAND!!! it rains all the freaking time, do you really believe none of that rain goes into your engine bay as you drive thru the wind and persistant heavy rain!!!
yes the alternator will get wet, but its no biggy. just be sure to run the engine soon afterward to dry it out. or cover it up with a plastic bag etc

Only thing is....... it may rain cats and dogs but my engine only gets spray etc not a kettle full of hot water! LOL

try living in cumbria!!
its not the water that could damage it, its the heat, may wash the grease out of the alternator bearings.
put a plastic bag over it, tape it, job done!!


rather spill water on it than petrol!
