I have a W re 00 HGT and have had a supersprint manifold, decat, straight through midpipe and powerflow backbox fitted, problem is (i know i need the CAT refitting) im worried it will fail its MOT because of emmisions, i hope i dont have to buy a new OEM fiat manifold or something just to get it through its MOT, also im getting it remapped at chippeduk soon, shpuld i get this done before or after the MOT?

you can get your cat mot'd upto 4 weeks in advance yes.

as for the emissions its tricky one i dont have much experience with them engines. soo cant say if it would faill or not with no cat. all i would think more likely it would maybe a hgt owner on here can halep ?

it will fail without the CAT as you know, but if all your lambda sensors are working with the CAT back on it will pass irregardless of which manifold you have on, just be sure to put that CAT back on a while before the MOT

I got passed on emissions on a mk2b 1.4 16v Sporting with a straight through exhaust with no cat. Might be different with a 1.8 though.

Went to book my car in to have the CAT put back in for the MOT, and there was a new bloke working (who is an arrogant bastard), and he gave me a lecture on how it was illegal to have a decat, and when mot is passed not to have CAT put back in for 'at least' 3 weeks due to them being liable, so i told them to shove it in the end, safe to say i have alternative methods of getting the MOT certificate.

mk2b aint been out long enough to need mot have they?

I was enquiring to weither I would have to swap it back when It came to MOT time so I got an emissions test done on its own and it passed..... Just
