Quick question, what grade engine oil should I use for my 1.2 8v elx (2001 plate). It has 36,000 miles.

15w 40 i think

My MkII Owner's Handbook recommends

SAE 10W-40 synthetic-based multigrade oil exceeding ACEA A3-96, CCMC G5 and API SJ specifications

for example, Selenia 20K (which I've never seen, not even in Italy).
My local Fiat Dealer uses Castrol GTX.

Selenia 20k can be bought at fiat dealers or www.shop4parts.co.uk

Why pay for selenia when Castrol is the best and costs less.

In asda you get 5l of 10w40 Castrol GTX for £12.97 (if its in stock)

Any fully synthetic 10w40 oil will do nicely.

The last time when we made EP tests, Castrol was the first oil to let go.

All Selenia oils are excellent and I use and recommend (to my racing clients)them solely in all applications including racing.

BTW, Mountune has replaced Castrol a long time ago for their oill supplies.

dam right good for a punto but put in a high proformance car and it turns to water and runs of your dipstick when you try to read it when hot

also caused big end failure on my dads alfy 156 1.8 t spark 16v after doing a ton twenty for a bit up a hill
