I have a 2001 1.2 8 valve and just recently if I accelerate hard to over 3500 rpm the temp gauge drops from normal to almost nothing. As soon as I let off the accelerator the gauge returns to normal. Is this serious?

Major airlock probaly, try bleeding it. If that fails change the thermostat and temp sender.

is it doing this within a few seconds, or over maybe 20seconds?

if its 20 then its something like an airlock, or your water pump is maybe blocked or just plain dying.
if its just a few seconds then possibly an electrical problem?

Eh? My Yr200 X-Reg doesn't have a temp gauge. Is it a meter on the dash?

i would say it's an alternator problem.

he might have a dynamic or an active sport, they both have temp gauges I think in the speedo cluster (lower model's don't get certain things, just a warning lamp when its too late and its blown up!!!, hence why I fitted a temp gauge to mine)

I want to fit a temp gauge to my 2000 1.2 8 Valve. Anyone done it if so what did you use for a sender and where did you put it
