We keep hearing about garages that make an ar*e of things - well here's a refreshing one - a garage that seems to do a decent job.

I just had my 1998 60s serviced (76k miles) - oil / filter change, air filter change, gearbox oil change and an MOT all for £160. The garage is grubby, there's no receptionist and you don't get a run to work, but they appear to have this 'novel' approach of doing the job right, no b*llsh*t and charge reasonable money.

Garage: Clark-Hardie, Lochee, Dundee.

(* - They are, however, still a garage and if anyone uses them and they make a mess of it, I waive any and all responsibility... ;->)

Here come da judge...

did they do loads of checks aswell because -£40 for the mot leaves £120 for an hours work if all they did was the above!!

They did what they described as a full service - I don't have details, but the car feels like someones tinkered with it - better to drive - brakes feel sharper, evidence of lubricants in various places, oily finger prints on brake fluid resovoir etc etc. Coolant was changed also - I'll have closer look at the weekend.

did they do cambelt? due at 40k and 80k. Coolant was changed also hope they did it right or you will get an air lock and blow your head gasket. don't want to worry you or anything.

the dirtiest garages are usually, not always but usually, the best.

Spirito di Punto | M-reg 55SX, black, 5dr. Clear repeaters. Remote locking fitted, no light confirmation yet though - need relay fitted

Cam Belt was done when I bought it a year ago - first job!!!

Heater seems to work, no gurgling, so fingers crossed...
