Why do things break just after the shops have shut!!!

Bonnet release cable has seazed, fortunatly, this is while the bonnet is open! So just wondering

  • Has anyone replaced the bonnet release cable on their MK2?
  • Anything to watch out for?
  • How much for the part?
  • Is it a dealer part or is pattern part available?

Cheers

Well, I can see this post was really interesting, but I will report my findings.

£7 for the cable from a dealer
removal is a case of pulling the old one out
re-fitting is a case of not running it the way it came out, just run infront of the sound proofing.

All in all, about 20 minutes work as it is a bit fiddley getting the cable back through the bulkhead.

Yea, I am sure that would work if it did not have a 90 degree bend in the cable.

Guess you have not seen one of these then.
