Hi there, forgive me if this has been posted, i've had a quick search and found some bits and bobs out but i really dont know what it means. Im wanting to go get some black alloys for my punto mk2.5 and also lower it.

I really dont know what all these numbers mean. For example PCD, and stuff and also what different bolts are for.

Also im wanting to get it lowered, preferably on monday night or something straight after work. What is the best size wheel to get for the Punto mk2.5 and also lowering it. I read if you lower it too much on the mk2.5 it starts to lift the engine? is that correct. Also i dont want it too low, where my car is gonna hit the floor when going over any bump at all.

Please explain what size wheel, with what bolts and the numbers (explained) and how much to lower it, if any 1 could explain this to me please reply, i would be greatful :D thanks

Hey, :chin: black alloys on what colour car, i love black alloys on the right cars (y) as for lowering id love for a company to be able to get me the lowering springs i want by the start of next week   dunno bout lowering it causes lifting the engine  depends on what size alloys you go for, on 17"s you can do about 35-45mm pretty easy i think

Yeh u can lower it on 35mm springs, and fit a set of 17's. remember to fit 205/40/17 tyres - lol i made the mistake of fitting 215/45/17 - a pretty costly mistake - got £235 worth of tyres in my garage.

They'll fit alrite- only problem is that if u hit a speedbump/ pothole quick enough - your more likely to buckle the wheel.

well my car is black, was gonna order 15's but wud prefer the 17's if i could, and getting it lowered 35 all around with the 17's on. So wen i order the wheel i tell them i need 205/40/17. what does that exactly mean? lol

anyways im a proper n00b wif cars, are wolfrace black alloys any good? they are the ones with a silver outline all the way round? or r they ****, cos don't wanna waste the money if they are cheap and nasty or anything. please reply soon lol cos getting them on monday :)

When you order they wheels - get them fitted with 205/40/17 tyres (width/profile/wheel dia.), if your talking about the Wolfrace Street Octane - i would personally advise against - as they look good in pic's but shi+e in real life, id reccommed:

Wolfrace:
Street Racer Black
Matrix Black
Katana Black

...Thats if you deffo wana go black- bear in mind when you see them from a distance when the car is moving, they have a tendancy to look like steelies - id go for shadow chrome

ah rite, neh i dnt care bout wot ppl fink whilst driving lol :p, how do u mean they r ****e in real life? if its performance wise i dnt care lol, my car just a basic 1.2 8v so its never gonna be good lol, just want it to look good :p

ok so if i get them fitted, and i drop it 35mm? is tht the most i could safely drop it? or cud it be dropped more? and also do i need spacers or anything or just these wobbly bolts?

unless there is another colour on the alloys or polished lip to break up the alloys from the colour of the car

Wat I meant is that the octanes look like they are hugging the calipers - just the shape and everything is wrong, should go for the street racer's :slayer:

Ive got 10mm spacers on the back+ had my arches rolled - had more hassel as i have a body kit,

as for the safety of dropping it, when i had the 45mm profile on - it rubbed like mad at the back (when lowered 35mm), but changing the profile down to 40mm I have had no rubbing since, that whole 5mm makes a difference :p

if you were planning on going lower - ur best using 16''s, also bear in mind if you go over 40mm ur best getting the full suspension kit elsewise I would put a wager on ur car lasting a max. of 12months on the road.

....goin on holiday on thur- will get some pic's up my punto wen i get back - crazydave fore-warning get ur tissues out :p

ah rite, well thx 4 the advice :) they ave got polished lip on btw

Hi there, halfords are charging me 699.99 pound for that street octane wheel on 17inch. ive got this website http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID=608&Make=&Model= which seems pretty ok, and almost 200 pound cheaper. It asks for fitment type what will tht be for the mk2.5? it gives me the option of

Fitments available 4x108 et20, 5x110 et42, 5x114 et42

has any 1 got any idea which 1 it will be?

also will i need spacers or anything or just them wobbly bolts?
