I have just ordered a new Fiat Punto and will be fitting my Alpine 1Din Nav system into it.

Is there a speed sensor cable easily accessable behind the factory fit head unit?

Also does the Sub work in the same way as the MK2 Punto. ie no line level input, it just takes the rear speaker output?

Hi Martyn,

I also own Punto HGT and Panasonic's 1DIN HDD Nav. System.
Speed sensor pin is different point each engine model(ECU types) and model year.
Mine is HGT. Getting speed sensor pulse point is near Diagnose connector(ODB2 Connector), below of Fuse Box. HGT's right side of Diagnose connector. One of the cable (green-white) is speed pulse.(MINE HGT model)
But Speed sensor pulse cable is changed each type,model year...

So.. get speed sensor pulse is not diffecult.

Where is the Diagnose (ODB2) connector? Is that inside the car?

I guess when I find that I just look for a green and white wire. Green and white seems to be standard for speed sense as my Mondeo uses the same colour and also the HU has green white for speed sense.

Is Your Punto U.K. model? RHD?
And can you find Electro-Fuse box? Lower and right part of steering wheel(RHD).
Open the Electro-Fuse box cover, you can find many fuses.
Lower of fuses, you can find 16pin open connector(none connected).
This is ODBII connector(for ECU diagnose...check engine etc...).
Right side of this ODBII connector, you can find 2 connectors already used(harness connected to this) again.
Right side of these, "GREEN-GRAY"(sorry.. green-white is incorrect) is HGT(1.8l 16v)'s and "BROWN-WHITE" is ELX/HLX(1.2l 16v model maybe also Sporting etc) 's Speed sensor line.

But some model (year, engine type) use another line for Speed Pulse.
And I don't know about 1.2l 8v model and JTD model[V].

Orion Gray colored HGT ABARTH is only one in JAPAN.
OMP parts/SuperSprint Ex./Speedline wheels

It will be a UK model. 1.3 Multihet Dynamic. I dont have it yet.

A wiring diagram would be ideal but I dont know where to get one.
