General Buckled wheel :O!

Hi everyone :wave: i'm back from my hols found out the other day i have a buckled wheel, i noticed the tyre was flat and i took it to kwik fit, they took the tyre off but couldn't find anything but told me it was buckled, bad enough for him to say "I wouldn't bother putting it back on the car" but i did because i had a 150 mile journey and thought it was better than the 48mph limit spare. wheel vibrates slightly at 60 and at 85 my teeth nearly vibrated out lol

just wanted to know how common this is, can't seem to find any other threads. oh and will a wheel from a mk1 punto fit my mk 2.5? i just plan on getting a wheel from the scrappies for now.

and it's an excuse to finally get alloys

to buckle the steelie you must have whacked the likes of a pothole/kerb

does anyone know if a wheel from a mk1 punto fit my mk 2.5? because there are lots of mk1s at my scrappie and obviously no mk2's or mk2.5's. thanks! :slayer:

Hi my wheel came off at 39000 miles last year, that was pretty scary.

Good thing is i wasnt using the motorway

is it quite a common problem?

you mean the whole wheel come off?? argh that is scary, wont be a fault though, just not tightened on properly

i had a tsw stealth alloy wheel that cracked in 2 and a chunk came off may have been due to hitting a traffic island at 40 not sure lol

Mk2 steel wheels dont fit on Mk1 Puntos. Dont know if its the same the other way round...

wrong, they have a diffrent off set
