Hi i have a Punto 2001 its done 95k its quite sluggish at pullin away and when im going up hills at a good speed the power dies haven to drop down a gear and when im on hills parked as well seems to take a couple seconds longer to start apart from that its great along flat roads its pretty nippy if im moven along and put the acclration pedal down the air filter is only a little dirty any ideas to try...

It's a slow car..... my old punto was useless on hills when i had passengers.

the throttle body could need cleaning out, spark plugs needs changing?

Ok i'll try by changein the plugs thanks where abouts is the Throttle Boddie located on the Punto anyone got a pic? Just woundering as well if i disconnect the battery for 10 mins then reconect it this will reset the ECU? is that worth a try as well.

Probably not, i cant think that the ECU would be slowing the car down like that, as said, plugs are first thing to change.

I waited untill i was down at a quater of petrol left stuck in a can of tec 2000 injecter cleaner and its alot more faster at pulling away than what it was im gonna just replace my air filter today as well since i dunno how long its been replaced and im puttin new plugs init on monday so surely it will make a big diffrence. :slayer:

well i say give it a service, sounds like it needs one lol, put some optimax in along with fuel injector cleaner and u shld be ok and reset ecu by disconnecting battery for few hours

What does this actually do?

resets your clock to 12:00

so it means if you put the battery back on at 02:00, you could drive for an hour and arrive at 01:00!!!

it makes punto's lightning fast!! infact so fast you travel back in time!

seriously though, what does it do?

Makes the ECU have to "re-learn" it's settings...








And also sets the clock back to 12:00

the ECU 'Learns' the way you drive and will adjust itself to that effect. re-setting the ECU will wipe it's memory (and any bad things it may have picked up along the way) and it will start to 'learn' the way you drive all over again, this is why it is important to go for a drive (driving the way you would normally) directly after you have done a re-set.
