Last saturday i replaced my front discs with some EBC discs (just the normall ones). As youll see from the pics they where in need of changing!!

In the top pic you can see that there is loads of pad left. To me they look almost new but i did notice that the top and bottom of the pad had quite a lot of wear compared to the centre of the pad. There was a taper about 15mm into the pad which was about 3-5mm deep (if that makes sense :/ ) I took the next pic today. They have probably done about 15 miles since the change, not very much i know but you can see where the pads are wearing into the disc..



Is it normall for they to be uneven wear to begin with and will the pads bed in and even out over time?

Any advice would be great.

You did change the pads didn't you?

do you mean on the edges?these are often tapered from new

I didnt think the pads needed changing as there is loads of pad left.

If you where looking at the pad as if its in the caliper it would be the top and bottom edges.. (above and below where the pad locates onto the outer caliper edge)

(is the one thing i didnt take a pic of and wish i had now! :bang: !!)

thats it,for the price of pads its best to fit new disc and pads

The pads are now wearing the disc to fit. Always fit new pads with a new disc. Best to get balanced pads and discs i.e. pads and discs that are from the same range and will wear the pads faster than the disc.

New pads now on order!.. just hope i can find time to fit them before they start wrecking my new discs to much.
