Well after a reccomendation from someone on another forum i just bought this focus induction kit to put on my 1.2 mk2 8v.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....60017528670&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1

Im not sure if il actually fit it yet, or wether il just put it back on ebay. Because after reading a few other posts it seems that this isnt exactly the bargain that i thought it was (e.g cheap and nasty)

Would this make any noticable differences to the sound/speed of my engine or is it just likely to bugger it up?

I know that i have to make some changes to it to be able to fit this onto my punto (filling in a hole or something) what would be the best way of doing this without making it an instant MOT fail.

thanks in advance!

Andy

If it is second hand it might need a new silicon hose bit. This only if the silicon hose was badly exposed to oil vapour from the breather. Otherwise it isn't bad.

its basically a £10 universal filter with a posh chrome pipe, but there's no reason why it wont fit your car and sound good. any filter will fit any car with a bit of fiddling. no filter will make a noticable difference to a 1.2 8v engine's performance, its just an airfilter after all.

let me know how it goes ive just been reccomended to buy one of these but i wont be able to get it for a week or so my ebays broken lol

cheers

does anyone know where/if i could find a guide to fitting this perticular induction kit? Im a total noob at this sort of thing, and knowing me i will probably totally screw it up unless someone explains it to me in baby steps :D . But i still want to do it myself otherwise il never learn!

I hear that you have to 'reset the ecu' after fitting an induction kit.... how would i do this?

cheers all. il keep you posted

(y) in advance!

Andy

Disconnecting the battery for 5 - 10 mins will reset the ecu. When you reconnect it, take it for a spin, and it'll monitor how the engines running and stuff (I don't do technical talk  ) and it should configure itselfe for running an engine with the induction kit on it.
