Just found this site so hope some kind person will give some advice ...
I am not sure if its o.k. to use NON-SYNTHITIC oil when I do a oil change on a Punto 1.2S 8V, as I have read it should be SYNTHETIC ... is it safe to use standard types of engine oil ???
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd imagine a semi-synthetic would be the order of the day. I'm sure someone wll be along soon with the correct rating e.g. 10w40 and confirm if it should be semi-synthetic.

Hope you're not planning to use Tesco's Value engine oil @ £1.99 for 5 litres! The oil is the engines blood and you should use the best you can afford. A decent motor factors should be able to show you which oil to use.

You need to use either full synthetic or semi-synthetic oil. Any other oil will be a false saving as it won't last very long at all.
