My wife owns a 97 1.2 elx 16V and I would like to replace the philips Radio/Cas with a Kenwood CD unit, It looks like I will need a facia adaptor, not had much luck in sourcing one, all point to post 98 models.
The plastic is a grey colour rather than black.
Any help appreciated.

I recently fitted a Panasonic CD Tuner to my 1998 60s. It came with the collar which fits into the hole in the fascia - fitted like a glove - installation took all of 20 mins - no problems...

Here come da judge...

Thanks
I'll give it a whirl, any advice on removing the old unit.
Also need a replacement drivers door speaker 6.5", guess it's easier to get 2 better ones & cut the connectors off that Fiat use.
Cheers

you should get two u shaped clips to pull the standard stereo out if you don't have those then you can do it with a couple of knitting needles or screwdrivers but then again you can get replacement clips from halfords... probably safer in the long run... fitted a kenwood stereo recently took all of about ten minutes... makes you wonder how people can get away with charging over thirty quid to do it...

if you need any more info then try posting on the ice forum, lots of people willing to express there opinion...

You won't believe this. I have recently ordered from Hiway and fitted the same unit to my SEAT Alhambra. Very pleased with it.
Is it a straight awap plug in for the Punto?
I don't think she wants an MP3 though, so will go for one without.

yeah pretty much... unplug iso from back of fiat unit, plug into the relevant bits on the kenwood wiring loom and bob's your uncle (or maybe not... don't know your family tree)... only thing as per usual with dammed fiat wiring, it'll stay on unless you switch it off... the ignition input is wired to a constant 12v input if that bothers you too much then you can find out the pins to rewire elsewhere in this forum...

yeah i bought the unit as a replacement for the kenwood 3024 that some b*****d stole... it might be a better idea, much the same idea, just about the same functionality...
