I got my insurance from Norwich Union but got a range of quotes from confused.com - they ranged from 900 down to 360 - and some of the companies wouldnt even quote online - I was told to ring and some of these were supposed women friendly women only groups!!!
I'd try there first because they try a lot of companies with just one set of details. Good luck!

I am insured with Adrian flux I find them great. My car most insures say is too modified for them to cover. I am fully comp with 3 points for a red & a dr10, my car is also insured for 8k. They were best for me although I had to send them pictures of the car, & all my mods have been declared

I should try Liverpool Victoria next time,, I think I pay arounf £650 for my HGT Multijet, which is a higher insurance group than the GP Sporting Adrian Flux are good but only if you have a non-factory standard vehicle, otherwise they're no better than anyone else in my case (my Camper is insured with them though because it's a conversion).

Your right the HGT JTD is group 8-9?, the GP Sporting is group6 which is one of many reasons why I bought it

Norwich Union are good for me. I was 17 at the time and everyone was quoting me £2k plus. Did my pass plus aswell. Norwich Union came in at £1300 and after my first year came down to £850. Last year was £700.
