This afternoon I decided to change my front headlights for Philips NightGuide ones, since I drive in the dark a lot and heard good stories about them.
My car is a 2002 Punto Go!.
According to the instruction manual, I need size H7. According to the Philips site , I need H7 and according to the people at Halfords (who looked it up in a Philips booklet), H7 is what I needed. After a bit more research H7S turned out to be exactly what I needed, since it's a projector headlight.
Imagine my surprise that after pulling them out, the old bulbs turned out to be H1.
I'm from Holland, so I'm not exactly sure what the translations for all the different lights on a car are, the ones I want to replace are the 'normal' lights, that you to turn on when it's dark ("dimmed light" is the exact translation). Not that it matters, since the other ones look like they are H1 as well. There is not an H7 to be found anywhere. (And according to the instruction manual, there should be no H1 anywhere in the car).
Is there an error in the (Dutch) manual and on the sites, and do I really need H1? Or am I doing something wrong?
